Just being here and checking things out means you are on the “hunt” for a better you, so perhaps I can be of help in getting you back on that road to recovery or taking your health to the next level?
For you see, not too long ago I was in the same boat as many of you, but it wasn’t always that way. No, having played school team sports (with lacrosse being my thing) from middle school all the way through to college I thrived on competition and being in peak physical shape.
In addition, when I wasn’t on the ball field I loved being outdoors, whether it be hiking, backpacking, running rivers, climbing mountains, or even caving. Eventually I ended up getting a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration degree with an emphasis in Outdoor and Management. I even did a 95-day Spring Semester in the Rockies course with National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) during my time in college for school credit, which I still pinch myself about, as that experience was so amazing!
Anyway, fast-forward about 25 years and I was a big, hot mess physically, emotionally, and mentally! The reason being is having sold everything and moved to a little island in the Western Caribbean a few years previous to help out a people devastated by a Category 5 hurricane, I decided to go “Native” and eat all the foods the locals ate, which meant copious amounts of tortillas, beans, rice, and cheese. Little did I know that it was just a matter of time before all that came back to bite me! Sure enough, 9 years into my journey on the island I hit a wall because even though I was working out almost daily as well as walking and hiking all over the place I was 30 pounds overweight and in constant physical pain - to the point I couldn’t even hardly sleep at night. Something had to change!
Thus, in looking for a solution that wouldn’t involve medical intervention, since I lived on a remote little island with no hospital and only one full-time doctor, I came across something online that caught my attention – namely this challenge called, “The Primal Blueprint 21-Day Total Body Transformation”. Basically, all it required was for me to stop eating all the stuff that was killing me and replace it with more veggies, quality meats, and healthy fats, in addition to backing off on the daily exercise and a few other “hacks”. Well, it all made sense to me and since it was only 21 days long and I was a desperate man, I had nothing to lose. So I went all in. After just 3 short weeks I was almost completely pain free, I had dropped 15 pounds without even blinking an eye and I was actually sleeping through the night. That was enough to make a believer out of me - so much so that I continued on for another 2 months dropping 30 pounds total!
Having experienced such a radical trans-formation, I realized if it made that much difference for me, surely it would help other men too. So I started on my journey towards getting “schooled up” in order to have a working knowledge of why I got well the way I did. And upon my return to the US in 2015, I got certified as both a “Primal Health Coach” and as a health coach through “The Institute for Integrative Nutrition” in order that I may help other men get their health back - body, soul and spirit!
